Get into the groove at this jazz piano camp, where young pianists imagine, create, and play together! Students will dive into improvisation, swing, blues and more in a supportive and creative environment.

Jazz Foundations (ages 11-14)
Take first steps in jazz at this piano camp! Students will explore jazz harmony, improvisation, playing together and more.
With hands-on learning and a relaxed and creative atmosphere, students will build confidence and musicality.

Topics in Composition (ages 14-adult)
Find inspiration for your music! Learn about compositional techniques, develop your own "voice", become familiar with notation and music-making programs, and explore ways to get involved with new music, either as an amateur or aspiring professional. Instructor Dr. Joachim Austin.

Joachim Austin earned his DMA in composition at UW-Madison with Dr. Laura Schwendinger. His recent compositions have been featured in public concerts in Madison, Vienna, and Brasilia.
